Rio Dulce and a boat trip to Livingston

We are staying at Bruno's on the river at Rio Dulce.  They have decent tv for the world cup games, which was Raviv's (the Israeli guy) main hotel criteria.  The place is full of people who sail around the world on yachts, as the river is wide enough for them to sail up from the Carribean coast and tool around on Lago de Izabal.  We took a boat ride to the coast and back today, stopping at a hot spring, the bay of flowers, a few small bird inhabited islands, and the coastal town of Livingston.

Livingston is a garifuna town.  One of the residents who showed us around said "we are the only black people in Guatemala".  He took us around a residential neighborhood, to the beach where we could see Belize across the sea, and to a bar where we purchased a cd of punta music.  Later we found out it was mostly done on what sounds like a casio keyboard with extra drums and some chanting.  Not bad, but not great either.

The pictures I have aren't great because it was very cloudy the day we took the boat ride.  Oh well.
