A shack of my own

Shack sweet shack!

Well, it's official. I am now living in Wales instead of just visiting, even though it's only for the month of May. With Tom's help, I've found a shack in the community of Owens field, just across the valley from Tom's place in Holts field. I've been staying here since the first of May or so, although the first couple days were devoted entirely to cleaning it up into a semi-livable state. It was really dusty and I found some gross things under the bed so sometimes I had to get out and go for a walk to keep me from being sick. The dust and I have a truce now and I live on one side of the shack and the dust lives on the other. There's no hot water, no heating and no electricity, so it's pretty rustic. My 'bathroom' is in an old tool shed that has had  a toilet installed, and due to space constraints, you have to sit on the toilet sideways.

Address: in the bushes, next to the steering wheel and gas tanks.
Fun! It's not too terrible though, as Tom and his family have leant me a few things that make it more livable, such as a camp stove. I'm now cooking my own meals in there.

The last week or so have been spent in preparation for an event Tom is putting on in town, the Tell n Show, a night of music, art, and fun inspired by a similar event in Victoria, Canada. I helped Tom make numerous advertisements out of cereal boxes and we passed them out to everyone he knows. The big night itself came on Sunday May 14th. Tom recruited me as the doorman and, clad in my flasher costume, I was ready to harrass people at the door for a £1 'donation' to get in. Over the course of the night, I even acquired a sword and a fancy new 'tache to further intimidate people. I thought the night went well. We had many people perform for the youth talent contest and at the open stage. The highlight of the night was listening to Tom's infamous band Raithism perform for the eager crowd. I enjoyed the show, but apparently the band didn't think they did a very good job. Shows what i know.
