Another successful Minnesota mini meetup involved the great Minnesota Get-Together, aka the MN State Fair.  We all trickled in through the morning and finally met up after some confusion of where the carosel was.  Turns out there are two carosels at the fair.  My roommate, Jason, and I arrived first, but at the wrong carosel, and soon we found our way over to the grandstand carosel where Bill (the_Bill) was patiently waiting for us).   Not sure what to do first, we decided that the skyscraper ride looked pretty fun.   I don't even know how to describe this ride other than it was awesome!  And not long enough!  Two people are strapped in at one end in seats that flip and the end goes way up top, maybe 200 feet? and around back towards the ground, over and over, frontwards and backwards.

Mmmm...cookies...
It looked really scary, but it really wasn't.  We could get a really nice view of the Minneapolis skyline - upside-down.  It was so fun!  The only remotely scary part was when we were flipped over and heading towards the ground head first.   Jason and I rode that while Bill took photos and bravely stood his ground wearing my pink purse!

We wandered around through the food booths that selling everything you can think of on a stick, including alligator, cheese, deep-fried candy bars, pork chops, Belgian waffle, ostrich, and pronto pups (of course!).  We walked around forever trying to decide what to get.  Soon we met up with Michael (moon_over_michael) and his friend Ruby.  We continued our search for food but nothing jumped out at me.

Bill got the Belgian waffle on a stick and Michael got some cheese curds (not on a stick).  Ruby got some delicious shrimp (on a stick).  I found some boulders on a stick - what could be better than rocks!?  I got my picture taken by them to tide me over for awhile.  We walked all over, through some exhibit buildings and back through the food booths.  We saw the Milky Way princess getting carved in butter and a guy that looked like Santa Claus.  I decided that I really only wanted a candy bar on a stick, so we went over there and I got a Milky Way deep-fried, on a stick.  It was so creamy, rich and delicious!  But I had to share because it was so sweet and too much for just me!  And I decided that probably wasn't the healthiest lunch so I went and got some breadsticks with cheese (because that is so much more healthy!).

After a bunch of walking and not picking up too many free things, we decided to call it a day.   We didn't stay for the Backstreet Boys concert.
