Sightseeing in Brugge

Pretty canal

When I woke up I had a shower and then went downstairs to the bar for free breakfast which wasn't really that great lol. Oh well after we went to the grocery store down the road and got some real food hehe. We spent the day with Nikki and Yo just exploring Brugge. We went to the square and got some pics with the big church and the statue and stuff. We pretty much just wandered around all day...I had to go to the bathroom at one point and I came across my first pay-to-pee toilet so that sucked but oh well what's 30 cents. We went to the church to climb the stairs all the way to the top but there was a huge line of school kids that we didn't want to get stuck behind so we said screw that. So we decided to go on a boat tour becuase there is so many canals.

Nikki and Yo had these discount cards so that was sweet. The tour was alright but the guy was telling everything in so many different languages and his english wasn't that great so we don't really know what we were looking at lol. I do know though that we went under the oldest bridge in Brugge which is over 300 years old. And we saw some swans and baby ducks along the way too! After that we went back to our hostel and had some lunch of chicken and pineapple pizza which was delicious. Then we went to the park where we just lied in the shade and had a nap. It was pretty nice except that Yo put his hand in poo lol. After that we didn't do much else...did some laundry, figured out our accomodation and transport to switzerland for the next day and then went back to the bar :) It was happy hour so we got beers for 1 euro which was awesome. Anyways to sum up the day we just stayed at the bar getting drunk again lol. We had a new friend tonight, a guy named Matt from Australia who had the bunk above me. And the crazy lady made another appearance as well!!

Melissa and I really liked staying at the St. Christophers. This was our 3rd one we stayed at on our trip. It was a little far away from the main train station but we just had to take 1 bus and then walk about 5 minutes so it wasn't that bad. Was a pretty good location I'd say, not too far away from town and stores, as well just down the street was a nice park. Downstairs there is a bar where check in is located. As well you can order food (the food was good too!) and in the morning this is where they have their free breakfast. They also have a happy hour for people who are staying at the hostel and you get beers for 1 euro. They also have a place where you can do your laundy and where there is internet (and there is quite a few computers so that was good). You can also rent a bike from here as well. Our room was an 8 bed dorm split in 2 with 4 beds on each side. Each side had their own sink and mirror where you can brush your teeth or put on makeup etc. Beds were comfy and there was clean sheets. There was no lockers to lock up important stuff but the people seemed pretty nice and luckily none of our stuff got stolen. The rooms all had key cards so it was harder for people to break into rooms which was good. The bathrooms were clean and had hot water for the shower so I definately approve of them haha. All in all this was a pretty good place and I would definately recommend staying here if you go to Brugge.
