Little Ben
When I woke up I wasn't really hung over which is surprising cause I was totally tanked last night but I guess I was just moving in slow-mo. Today is Melissa's 19th birthday!!! We called Lindsay to wish her a happy birthday as well as this was their first birthday not being together and being twins. Since it was Melissa's special day she got to choose what we did and we did a Big Bus tour which is a hop off hop on kind of bus. We went all through Trafalgar square again but we didn't get off the bus. It was neat being on the bus becuase the tour guide would tell us stuff about the city that we wouldn't have known about like if Big Ben rings 13 times the lions in Trafalgar square will get up and dance around hehe. The first place we got off was at Buckingham palace.
"Can you still see the palace?"
We didn't get to see the changing of the guards but we did get to see some guards and just like 1 guard change places so that was pretty cool. We only went into the gift shop where I bought this totally amazing Prince Harry postcard. He is so gorgeous, I love him! Then we got back on the bus and our next stop was St. Pauls Cathedral. Sadly it was closed for a special service so we didn't get to go in but we did take pictures outside of it which was just as fun. Then we got back on the bus and we went over the tower bridge which was totally sweet and then we got off at the Tower of London. It cost 16 pounds (I think) to get in and in my opinion it wasn't really worth it. Like it was cool but some of it was like just old weapons and stuff that I found kind of boring lol.
London Traffic!
The Tower of London was our last stop on the tour and then we went back to Piccadilly Circus where Melissa chose her birthday dinner of Mcdonalds hehe. We met up with Sean and Francesca from the night before and we went to go see the play Wicked at the Appollo Theatre. We were a little late though because we went to the wrong Appollo theatre lol. The play was SOOO good and I'm really glad that we went cause at first I didn't really feel like going but I am glad I did. After we took a London taxi to Soho. We went to this bar called Garlic and Shots which was all normal like an ordinary bar on the top floor but in the basement it was like vampire metal theme and it was all dark with candles and there was even this little area that was like a tomb or something where people could chill and there were lots of people who looked freaky and had tons of piercings. After that we went to a private club called the Arts that Francesca got us into cause she is a member there. We had lots of fun, drank lots of beer and did lots of shots. I got drunk but not as wasted as the night before (acutally I have never been as wasted as I was that night since then, ever) Melissa left early and Chris and I walked home around 3am ish. It's crazy how many people are still out at 3am in the morning. It's like people don't go to sleep ever. Anyways it was a fun day and I think Melissa enjoyed her birthday!
"Based on Gregory Maguire's "outstanding novel" (The Independent), the spellbinding WICKED transports audiences to a spectacular fantasy world of wizards and witches to tell the incredible untold story of an extraordinary friendship between two girls: the blond and popular Glinda and the misunderstood green girl, Elphaba, whose destiny is to become the infamous Wicked Witch of the West."- www.londonmusicaltickets.com
I thought this play was totally awesome!!! I was entertained by every part and I thought it was awesome to find out the storey behind the wicked witches. Although I don't know too much about theatre I thought the actors were very good and the lights were well done to enhance effects. I also thought the set was very good. I rated the tickets as cheap as we got them online the day of the play for only 20 pounds. We were quite far away from the stage though so better tickets probably cost alot more. I would definately reccomend this play to anyone going to London and escpecially to people who loved the movie the Wizard of Oz.
