Me with half the feast
We had a pretty late start today lol. We got lunch and then we went back to the information centre where we were trying to sort out stuff with hostels. We both called home and I got to talk to my mom and grandma which was pretty sweet. Then we went to a local grocery store where we bought a lot of food!! I also took this picture of a bar named Abbotsford and in the picture I managed to snap this fat lady as well (don't worry she makes another appearance later) Then we went back to our hostel and sat on the top bunk and ate all our food and it was delicious!! We decided to go on a Haunted Ghost walking tour that night but it wasn't until 10pm so we went down to the bar and had a drink and watched the Anaheim vs. Detroit game. While we were watching the game the fat lady walked by!! Haha so I took another picture of her.
We met our roomies who were 2 people from montreal and they gave us some info on Brussels. Anyways the ghost tour was soo scary!! Well, I was scared but Melissa was not. The guide was really funny though and he got a kick out of telling us about all the torture they used to do. When someone was accused of being a witch they would nail her thumbs to her knees and throw her in the water. If she floated she was a witch and was burned at the steak were her skin would boil from the water evaporating and causing steam. If she drowned then they would appologize to the family and then give her a nice Christian burial. Either way you die which sucks lol. We went to this graveyard/old jail where alot of torture and executions took place and you could even see bullet holes in the stone wall where people used to be shot.
This is the ghost tour that we took
Anyways the graveyard is famous for paranormal activity and alot of people come up with brilliant ideas while being there. Frankenstein, Dracula, Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde, and Harry Potter were all thought up when those authors were staying in the hotel beside the graveyard. As well, there is a real grave of Thomas Riddle in that graveyard (that's voldemorts father in Harry potter). Anyways then the tour guide made us go in this room where they used to keep dead bodies and he was telling us about all the freaky stuff that had happened from poltergeists and I was sooo scared something was gonna happen. He said that if you get really cold or really hot all of a sudden to move because you are standing in the hot spot of a spirit and they will hit you and ofcourse i was getting hot cause i was so scared so i kept moving around and i was trying to inch away to the door and he flashed the light at me and was like "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" and i told him that i didn't want to be in that room and then he was just like "get in there!" and pushed me in.
Us at the beginning of the tour...then it got too dark so we couldn't take any more pictures
Anyways i was edgeing to the front so that when we were done i could be the first out of there and then ofcourse i rushed so i was the first and what do they do?!?! a guy in all black with a mask on jumps out and yells at us and scares the CRAP out of me!!! man that sucked. We also learned about the little dog named bobby that would go to his masters grave every day for 19 years after he had passed away. Anyway after the tour we walked back to the hoste but we took the long way by accident so it took us a little longer but oh well. Einburgh at night is kind of sketchy but I was with Melissa so I wasn't worried.
