Me and Melissa in the square

I woke up pretty early considering that I was out really late last night. We were planning on leaving around 4ish to take the train to Brugge so that way we would have most of the day to explore what we could of Brussels. We decided to do some site seeing with Geoff and Matt from the night before as they weren't leaving until later that day as well. We went and got some breakfast at one of those amazing fry stands they have everywhere. Its crazy how busy they are too, we had to wait about 20 minutes in line! After that we walked to the Grand Place, it was pretty sweet except that they were setting up or taking down some huge concert event so lots of the buldings were being blocked by lights and stages and stuff so that we couldn't take any really nice pictures.

We walked down some of the side streets that ran off the square and we went to the Manequin Pis. I was quite shocked with the size of it. I thought for sure that it would be a lot bigger but it wasn't. But oh well it was still pretty sweet to see it. On our way back we got a Belgium waffle and it tasted like heaven! That was about all that Brussels had to offer us so we went and chilled in Brussels Parc. We just lyed in the shade and relaxed, it was pretty sweet because it was really hot outside. Later on the 4 of us went to the train station to catch our trains. Melissa and I were heading to Brugge and Geoff and Matt to Cologne. We had to get our Eurail passes stamped as this was the first time using them. So we figured we just hop on the train right and sit anywhere? Well we sat in the first seats we could get cause the train was really busy and there wasn't many available but we didn't take into consideration the first class section.

So we were just sitting there enjoying the train ride and the ticket guy comes to check our ticket and he informs us that we are infact sitting in first class when our tickets are not valid for first class. Whoops our bad :p But ofcourse cause the train was so busy there wasn't any seats at all in coach and we ended up sitting on the floor in the little compartment that connects all the cars. So a good lesson learned today, from this point on we never sat in first class by accident again lol. All in all Brussels wasn't that great. I'd definately say its on the bottom of our lists. We saw all the sites in half a day and I would say that's all you really need.

When we got to Brugge we had to take a bus to get to our hostel but it didn't take that long. It was a really sunny evening out and we were walking along a canal and it was so nice.

Walking to our hostel along the canal, soo pretty
Our hostel was really busy and the guy at the bar was turning people away cause it was full and then when we we got to the front of the line he was like, "well i hope you guys have a reservation..." which we did so it was all good. We were in an 8 bedroom dorm that was kind of split into 2 so there was 4 beds on each side and there was only 1 left on each side so we were kind of seperated but no biggy. We met two Austrians in our room named Nikolas (nikki) and Johanese (Yo) and we went down to the bar that is in our hostel and had some drinks with them. Well 1 drink lead to another, and another, and another and we were there all night pretty much just drinking. Oh and along the way we met a canadian named mike and 3 other canadian girls  Oh and there was this crazy old lady who was sitting behind us who was balding and had like 1 tooth.
Mmm Jupiler Beer
She was there alone before we got there and she was still there alone after we left to go to bed and every time she was finished a drink she would just stand up and wave her empty beer glass in the air until another bar tender brought her another one haha. And she didn't believe in locking doors apparently because people in our group opened the door on her while she was in the bathroom on multiple occasions haha. We were in another St. Chris' hosel so when we left the bar our room was like 10 seconds away. It was soo friggen sweet!
