Cartagena, Colombia Travel Photos
September 10, 2007
This hotel is located just 3 blocks from the front beach, in Bocagrande area where all the other and much more expensive hotels are.
The staff at Hotel da Pietro was extremely kind, always smiling and they were very helpful at any time. The rooms are very nice, they have all tv cable, phone, safe box for free, comfortable beds, nice hot/cold showers, a/c and you can use internet service for free.
Breakfast is served in the inner patio at open air, it´s kind of buffet... delicious! fresh fruit, cereal, a variety of natural fruit juice, breads, eggs, cheese... etc, BUT certainly the best thing is that even if you are a solo traveler you will not have breakfast alone because there are 2 papagayos, 2 parrots, a toucan and a very lovely monkey called PILI. They were rescued from people and given as gift to the hotel owner. The Papagayos come to pick some of your bread and... they will also teach you some spanish :) ´cause they can talk some funny phrases.
In the hotel you will also find the Italian Restaurant, they have a dish called the Pasta de las Islas del Rosario, which is a mixture between Italian and Colombian cuisine it´s made with the pasta of your choice, sea food, and coco milk. Delicious!
I rated this hotel 5 stars not because it´s luxury but because it´s excellent for its category and i felt absolutely comfortable being there... really like a queen.
