Barracuda beach Resort

Although I never stayed at this beautiful spot, my brief visit proved that this resort warranted sharing with other Travel Buddies. The Barracuda Beach Resort is located in the tiniest Emirate in the UAE, Umm Al Quwain. Our motivation to drop in was because this is the only Emirate where one can purchase alcohol to take away for personal consumption – a moot point if you stay here since you can consume on the premises.

Perched right on the Arabian Gulf, the Barracuda seems to be a wonderful spot for either a family vacation or a romantic getaway. I’ve included a few pictures from their web site so you can witness the charm, which reinforce the romantic allure. We noticed there were several night clubs on campus that featured live music, both modern and traditional Arabic. And on the family side, the Barracuda is next door to Dreamland Aqua Park, which only supplements the many activity options we saw posted.

Most of the rooms sit right on the Arabian Gulf and many appear to be beachside cabanas with private porches! Located midway between Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah, the Barracuda is somewhat remote (roughly 35 miles south of Dubai), near enough to be convenient but far enough away to escape the maddening crowds of Dubai.
