Costa Rica is a popular spot to travel for obvious reasons. I spent 2 weeks there and wanted lots more time to explore this country with lots to see.

Two days in Montezuma

Montezuma, Costa Rica: Looking down one of the main streets in town.

After the sea kayak trip I caught the bus to Montezuma.  Montezuma is a nice little beach town that is not too touristy.  There is just enough here to keep you occupied in its beautiful seashore settings.  The town has miles of beach right east of town where you can walk and enjoy the surfy seas.  The waves seem to just jump righ up at the shore.  Not really a surfing wave though because they just jump up at the beach.  You can hike up to the waterfalls from town.  Just take a short hike west on the road and hike up along the creek till you get to several waterfalls.  Some require some heavy scrambling to get to.

I enjoyed my time in Montezuma.  The restaurants are good and the people are friendly.  I founds out that there is a speedboat which comes over from Jaca which might be a fun way to get here and avoid the long bus ride and ferry ride from Puntarenas.
