The Airport
If you arrive in Libon:
DON"T buy a Lisboa Card. It's more expensive than a public card and you can visit museums free on sunday.
DO buy a public tranportation card. You can use this in Metro, Electrico, Bus and Elevator (really cool).
DO greet people with BOM DIA. They will be very friendly.
The Portugese DON'T speek English very good. Use your hands to communicate with them and write busnumbers. Good luck!
Baixa, Bairro Alto and Alfama
We stayed in Baixa in hotel Duas Nacoes. (I write this for the second time. The first time something went wrong !#$%*^&) Read my review!
Staying in Baixa is great. You have a few hot Spot's in this quarter and you are near to every sort of transportation.
What to de in Baixa, Bairro Alto and Alfama?
Take Electrico 28. It's the oldest one. You drive through very narrow streets and see beautifull buildings. DON't go in peak hourers. It's free with your public card.
Take elevator Santa Justa. It's an old building designed by a student of Eiffel and you have an amazing view. It's also free with your card.
Walk through the small, romantic streets of Alfama and see all the beautifull buildings, stores and restaurants.
See the different plazas. Make pictures in the morging and after dark.
Drink a marguerita cocktail at Hardrock Cafe. (metro Restauradores)
Eat chocolate salami!!!!!!! ;-))
