In my last blog I told you about a Halloween party that I was going to. Well, it was tonight. I picked up the dress yesterday, bought a ring and a scarf and paid for a pair of angel wings before running back to school to finish my day. Morning came early today, as I ended up at the school at about 25 after 9 and got to work before being dragged off by Daniel to get his costume and some accessories (aka bling). He drove, and we made it there and back safely (okay, I nearly had a heart attack because someone came WAY too close to hitting my side). Inside, Daniel got his thing and we ran downstairs to pick up our bling and my wings.
Four classes later... I was exhausted before I even got ready for the party! My last class ended at 8:15 which didn't leave me much time to get ready since we were supposed to leave by 8:30... like that happened. I got into my dress, got my jewelry on, and then got my make-up done... we were out the door at around 9. Daniel drove, thankfully, because I didn't want to take the subway and that is one expensive taxi ride. Another woman was following us, but drove quite slow so Daniel lost her fast. It was a good ride over, not too much traffic. And Daniel continued to amaze me by actually driving in Beijing (it takes talent).
We got to the other school without any problems, and waited for the other car to arrive. That took a little doing since they got a little turned around, but they arrived and we all went inside. So many people wanted my picture!! It was nice, actually. So yes, there are a lot of pictures from the Halloween party. I've also included some that another student took since they are a little different.
There was a lot of chit-chat, photos, non-alchoholic beverages and food to go around. We didn't stay very long as we'd gotten there late and we were all pretty tired to begin with. Daniel drove home, and Brad (another teacher) mentioned something about us being 'two peas in a pod, like siblings' as we were talking about music.
Friday found me at the school early, and Daniel met me there. We ended up at Jenny Lou's since he wanted stuff, and I got stuff too (hey, I was there). It went all in one bag, which was in the back of the car. From there we went to a French bakery for breakfast (hey, I was hungry). Then it was back to the school where we picked up Scarlett and my costume and we headed back to Chongwenmen. Once done there, it was back to the school were I taught, Scarlett studied and Daniel enjoyed his day off.
Until he had to come back to give me the stuff I'd gotten from Jenny Lou's. I'm a dork... with a candy stash at the school. Yup, sometimes life is good.
