Sunday was spent catching up on Twin Peaks (only one disc to go, and that disc doesn’t work *is sad*) and started on Criminal Minds.  I got the job of logistics (Librette is coordinator) for the skating activity for that afternoon.  Found that the skating rink at the China World Mall is open until 10pm and it costs 30-50RMB for 90 minutes.  Then the plan called for dinner at the Taj Pavilion (Indian food).  It ended up being me, Librette, Paula and Jan, Wandi wasn’t skating but she said she’d be there.  So with the logistics and coordinating done, I watched the first disc of Criminal Minds, Season 3.

End of Criminal Minds, Season 3, episode 2- one of my FAVORITE songs- “Broken” by Lifehouse.  Love it, love it, love it.  Glad to see someone else appreciates it as much as I do.

Skating was good!  Didn’t take long to find in the mall since there were signs, but I was waiting for Jan and Librette and Paula went to make sure that the restaurant was still open.

I found Jan, but we didn’t know where Paula and Librette were, finally found them through Wandi at the rink itself.  So we went in, got our skates, put our stuff away in lockers…and had to wait for the zamboni to finish.  And when I finally got out there…it was slow going!  Now, I haven’t been skating since about the 4th grade and I only did it once.  So yeah, graceful it wasn’t, but I didn’t fall at all.  J

Everyone had a great time skating, and there are pictures to go with it.  After skating, we went to Taj Pavillion where we settled down and ate good, but IMHO a little expensive, Indian food.

And then it was home-bound.  Me and Librette tried watching 3:10 to Yuma, but I crashed out in the middle.  But I finished it Monday morning.  Then I watched more Criminal Minds.  Then that day was spent planning bowling!   Librette and I ended up meeting Jan and Paula at the Guomao subway stop, then taking a bus to Lido since there is a bowling alley inside the Holiday Inn Lido.  After much drama with the girl behind the counter, we settled into 2 teams (a student of Librette’s and his friend met us there, then a friend of Wandi’s met us later).  Well, my bowling was no better than my skating.  I also haven’t been bowling since high school.  But it was still fun, though the five frames of gutterballs didn’t do my ego any good.

We played two games of bowling, then we headed out and went back to my place.

We played a drinking game on weak Chinese champagne, but it was good!!!  Then we split for the night, and that was all.  Tuesday was spent just sleeping, watching more Criminal Minds and heading out to Carrefour for a few things.  And then it was back to work.

Now, I’ve been doing Music Club since the day after Christmas, every Wednesday for 50 minutes.  This week’s class- Love Songs (Valentine’s Day was the next day).  And the songs I chose- 3 Doors Down- Landing in London, Lifehouse- Broken, Ryan Adams- When the Stars Go Blue, Mariah Carey & Luther Vandross- Endless Love and Brian McKnight & Vanessa Williams- Love Is.  And which did the students like… 3 Doors Down and Lifehouse!!!!   â€¦after my own heart!  J

Valentine’s Day was uneventful, just my usual four classes…except for the surprise from Jan!  He gave me a card and some M&Ms (he knows they’re my favorite).  So I did get something for the dreaded V-Day after all.
