Avenue Q
It was a Friday afternoon and I just got out of school for February vacation. I was so stressed up to this point with papers, exams, rehearsals, etc. It felt really nice to just get out of the "bubble" i call my hometown. We drove to New York City from Boston in just under 4 hours, which was great. I slept the whole time, which was nice. I woke up to seeing the skyscrapers of New York City in the distance, which was quite an unexpected sight to see after taking a nap. We slowly made our way through the city to our hotel, The Excelsior, on the Upper West side, directly in front of the Museum of Natural History. The Hotel lobby was beautiful...lots of wood and marble, with elegant furniture. The rooms, however, were mediocre. They did the job, but they weren't that great. Upon unpacking, I hurried to the nearest Starbucks for some caffeine. We then met my half-brother (who lives in NYC) for dinner at a place called "Becco". It was Italian, so of course it was good, but it wasn't anything special. After stuffing ourselves, we walked around Times Square and got to the Golden Theatre for a Broadway Show!! We saw Avenue Q (See my review) which was absolutely hilarious. After the show, Peter went back to his apartment and we went back to our hotel. Wonderful way to start my trip to New York City :)
