Worth the hike...
Columbia was the only Latin American country Ive been to besides Mexico.... and man did it leave me thirsty for more adventure. First of all the Dollar does very well there, so we were living life very well. Clubbin every nite with bottle service in the range of 5-6 bottles a night.... we stayed at a mansion with two maids, a cook, two front desk girls, an event coordinator, a club guide (to make sure we didnt mess with the wrong crowd), and a driver... We also went to a friends grandmothers 80th birthday at a Pablo Escobar type ranch/compound that his family rented for the weekend. Again with the cooks and servants, eating patacones, steak, and shooting shots of aguardiente poolside....
As you can see life was lived pretty well and here is some photographical evidence. We went parachuting through the mountain valleys, had a bbq/block party on my friends aunts block. We basically sponsored a cookout that had as many as 30 people in attendance..... it was great. If your scared to go because of the countries reputation....dont be scared it was safe and the people were soooooo friendly. Just use some street smarts thats all.... I know thats not easy for some of you, but you cant limit yourself to Disney World..... you have to experience life from another perspective to truely understand your own.... Grow a pair and just do it. You wont regret it.
