Just to recap on the last couple of days...

So we all left the GVi house on sat lunch time...to Krabi and then the port, catching a ferry to Ko Phi Phi...so beautiful as we came into the bay, amazing lush mountains either side.  The middle strip of the island was very busy and full of falang as soon as we got off the ferry.  Trying to sort accomodation was pretty difficult as most places full, found somewhere (had to split GVI crew up a bit)...the guy wheeling our suitcases was practically running through the back streets, me Lydia and Hannah lost the others so had to go all the way back to the port and start again! Room was fine, bit off the main thoroughfair.  Was about 7pm we'd dumped our bags so we just went straight out to an Italian restaurant opposite and Irish pub (so authentic!) and then on to the bars, Tiger Bar and then Apache...very cheesey, cheap cocktails etc.  And a few ladyboys to add to the amusement...a Dutch guy was so wasted he was snogging one of them and then an Irish guy i was chatting to ended walking past us with one.  Something is wrong with that?!  On the Sunday we did a bit of shopping and then hired a boat for 2000 baht, taking 7 of us to Maya beach (i think?!) where 'The Beach' was filmed.  Beautiful and unspoilt island, dived off the boat at certain points and then snorkelled seeing amazing colouful fish.  To get to Maya beach we had to go through a 'hole' at the back of the island (this was beacuse you have to pay an extra 200 B to go the normal front way!).  beautiful beach white sands and crystal water.  Our driver took us further round the island and then back to the main island.  Another night out, ended up on the Gypsy Beach after the club shut at 2am...very cool place to sit and have a drink, met some more english people etc and then walking back I randomly met a girl from Watford who knew some girls in my year at school?!!

Monday woke up with a killer hangover, had to check bags out and then down to the beach for a brief swim, and then 4 of us (Lydia, Hannah, Caroline and myself) went on the Ko Lanta...another ferry.  Arriving at this island was a bit of a relief as no way as claustrophobic as Ko Phi Phi, everything well spaced out and our hotel was lovely beach huts...overlooking the beach, a beautiful sunset as well.  Stayed here until 2.30pm the next day when a mini bus came and picked us up and take us back to KRabi ....3 hours later....stayed at the City Hotel (no way were we going back to the Thai Hotel!).  Lydia and I said bye to Hannah and Caroline, who went back to the GVI house for another 5 weeks...whilst we sat and planned our next few weeks, or months......
