Freedom of the Seas, currently the world's largest cruise vessel. Freedom, which launched in May 2006, represents a new class of ship for Royal Caribbean. It surpasses Cunard's gargantuan Queen Mary 2 and carries 1,014 more passengers.
Every stateroom inside the vessel is enhanced with a flat-screen TV, wireless Internet capabilities, and boosted cellular connectivity. The ultra-Voyager class ship features signature Royal Caribbean amenities including a rock-climbing wall, the Studio B ice-skating rink, the Royal Promenade, and the first-ever surf park at sea. Relish a rejuvenating massage or get a work out in the ShipShape Fitness Center and Spa. You'll enjoy impeccable service, top-notch entertainment, and endless adventures at sea.
In addition it also features a regulation-sized boxing ring, an interactive water park for kids and even a barbershop. Yet in many ways, Freedom is merely an evolution, not a revolution. It has a Johnny Rockets, the Promenade Cafe, Ben & Jerry's, etc.
Freedom of the Seas is the best ship for families in the Royal Caribbean fleet. The H2O Zone is a huge success -- the kids love it, and it keeps them out of adult whirlpools. I have to give credit to the youth staff for keeping them occupied with age-appropriate activities.
