I have renewed faith in the Spanish people

Just when I think a place is out to get me, something nice happens and I remember that I need to wait to form an opinion. Honestly, after Barcelona I thought all Spanish people were out to get me and everyone I am traveling with. However, at least after one day, Madrid is wonderful and the people are very nice.
What was really great about Barcelona was the architecture though. I bought a couple of books about Gaudi and really enjoyed seeing his work there. I do want to go back when I´m just on vacation and not responsible for 44 students- I think I´ll enjoy it much more :).
I know you may be wondering what ended up happening with the bus... it does appear that it was stolen.
Madrid may not have the fantastic architecture of Gaudi, but our hotel is in a great location and the students are happy, which in turn makes my life much easier. The students were very worried when we pulled up in front of the hotel on a very busy Gran Via and they saw the Hotel Senator in front of them (the name of our hotel in Barcelona) but were quickly relieved when we told them we were staying down the block a bit at the Tryp Gran Via Hotel.
We went to the Prado Museum today. Professor Lewcock says it´s one of the finest in the world, which he would know, and we all really enjoyed it. Not one of the students asked me when we could leave, which is always a good sign.
I´m off to hit the many clothing stores that are on our street as well-another plus for Madrid. Not that I have the luggage space for anything, but I also don´t have any clean clothes... I guess I´ll just have to buy another bag.
Only 3 more days on the trip and then off to Oxford... It has gone way too fast, but I am looking forward to being on vacation for a week with Brett. I´ve learned plenty from the students about "relaxing" in Europe, so now it´s almost my turn :).
