Packing is done?
May 23, 2006
So, I had no trouble buying things.... it seems I bought more than can fit in my tiny bag. And by tiny, I mean the maximum sized bag that we are supposed to bring :). We met with the students last week and everyone has their tickets and insurance cards- what else could they possibly need? One of them was contemplating bringing his surfboard, but I think he talked himself out of that when he saw the streets and bridges of Venice that lay ahead... at least I hope so.
Believe it or not, it's 10 pm the night before I leave and I'm almost totally packed. It seems too good to be true, so I'm not actually saying it's done just yet. I'm sure some other pair of shoes will call out to me and I'll need to find a home for them, only to discard them on a Parisian street when they are replaced in a few days :).
That's all for now. I'll write more from some smoky internet cafe in Paris- scratch that- I think they've outlawed smoking there too, so I'll be in a clear-aired internet cafe drinking a $10 cup of coffee, but I'll be free of smoke at least....
After Paris, it's on to Zurich, Venice, Rome, Florence, Barcelona, Madrid, Oxford, then London.
Au revoir!
