Halong Bay Vietnam- ovenight trip
Getting there is shocking. uncomfortable bus, trying to relax while driving on the wrong side of the road with trucks coming toward you :)
also be prepared to hand over your passport and not see it for an hour or so, it seems a bit worrying wiht so many boats, but they do it every single day so the system was relatively efficiant and reliable.
We started off our trip on a high note with a seafood lunch. we ate all that we possibly could and rolled up to the top deck to soak in some of hte views.
Our cabins were relatively comfortable, very clean and relaxed. Wouldnt want to spend too long in there though. We stopped off at a point where we could climb a mountain which we did and it was great, good to get a bit of a work out and beautiful view at the top.
We anchored up for the night but before tucking into dinner we got taken on a little boat trip where we went through a small cave thing into another area which was beatiful. It jsut looked so prehistoric, i almost expected king kong to pop out. While everyone stayed int he boat admiring the view i jumped out and swam, the water was beautiful, and there was something so peaceful swimming through the water and i stayed in for a good half hour, we went back to out boat, and decided to jump off the top deck into the water! great fun! except the second time round i round myslef pretty water logged, but it was worth it!
Dinner once again was great, if you dont like seafood, i wouldnt recomend this trip because that is basically all they feed you. its good seafood though. WIth all the lights of other boats around it was beautiful to sit on the deck and lap it up.
Breakfast was relaly crap, not evne worth eating! We wnet on a trip to some massive caves and then headed back, it was only 24 hours but the relaxation you will get is worth it. Definately recomended.
