Kruger Park Safari
We stayed at Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve. It was an amazing place! We saw all the "big 5" plus a cheetah and wild dog, which I was told is rare.
Much earlier then I'm used to, we got up to do our morning game drive. I couldn't believe how chilly the air was, and I need a sweater. It was amazing driving around in the open jeep. I felt like I was driving around a different world that was so foreign to me.
During the afternoon, we did a bush walk and learn all about the trees, plants and how they track the animals thought their different footprints. The tracker was amazing. He could tell when, how many and about how old the animal was that left the prints!
At night we did another drive and this time used the spot light to see nocturnal animals. Equally amazing to the animals was the stars. Living in New York I can never see as many stars (and shooting stars) as there. We could see the whole Milky Way curve around the earth! I got some of my best pictures from this trip but my camera just couldn't catch how amazing the night sky was.
This trip left me with so many new experiences and emotions. Seeing animals in their natural state made me relieve how small and insufficient I as a human really am. It's just not all about me in this world!
On the plane back home I actually cried because I didn't want to leave. I could defiantly live in South Africa!
