A bit of a wander

I went for a bit of a wander, and these are some of the photos.
The canals have lots of little carvings around them - this is one of my current favorites. The trees are all on the turn now and really lovely, and it is getting really quite cold. I wandered all the way back to the centraal museum in fact, and went for a wander right into the church of St Nicholas, which is really pretty, and then into the museum for more cake. After the cake, I sat and sketched the Utrecht Ship (it's a viking cargo ship - they were even more impressive as traders than as raiders, but that doesn't make nearly such a good story!) for a while. It's not my best ever sketch, but I think I'm getting less awful.
I also found a whole room I'd missed out last time. It was all mostly still lives and landscapes with cows, and had a Van Gogh painting of some pears. If you like paintings of cows and pears, this might be the place for you. If not, then I might stick to the other bits of the museum and the more famous, less fruity Van Goghs in Amsterdam!
