All the hot spots are located downtown on Granville St. I estimate there to be about 13+ bars and night clubs on Granville. My favorite spot was

It can't compare with On Broadway or The Ivy in San Diego. However, the people and ambience make it a must for club goers! If you'd like more info, feel free to hit me up. I've been to pretty much every night club there and wouldn't mind sharing my experiences.
