La Salle, IL to Wisconsin Dells, WI

We had the best visit with a fellow Roadtrek couple last night.  They were just returning home (MI) from a RV caravan tour of Alaska.  The tour itself started at Dawson Creek and ended at Port George, lasting 45 days.  They say the road is not too bad most of the way but there are some large potholes and washboard areas.  We each did the famous show and tell of our respective rigs.  It is always interesting to see how others load and use their units.

We awoke to rain this morning; Dave didn’t get too wet unplugging us. J   We drove out of it in about 15 min.  Lots of sun again.  Using SR 251 heading North to WI, seeing more corn and soybeans.  Interesting site just outside of PawPaw, about 50 + power generating windmills.  Good use of the wind here.

11:50 AM into WI. On SR 51 N.    Laundry day; found a nice clean coin laundry in Janesville.  Dave is good about helping so I turn the generator on the RV and get my house work done while he watches the machines.  Even fit a haircut in today too.

Wanted to “make time” to Wisconsin Dells so traveled I 90.  Rolling hills again, lots of trees, some corn and soybean fields.  Starting to see Casinos too.

Just before Baraboo saw a sign “Cascade Mountain Ski Area”…our GPS says 816 ft!!!!

Not the Cascades of home.  J

Gas stations today, just before and into WI, have been $3.08 to $3.15; guess we are out of the 2.99 range. Darn.
