There is still snow on the ground

We stayed at the Gunnison KOA last night and had the best nights sleep.  We actually had to close the windows and use blankets it was so cool for a change.  Very nice campgrounds.  Even had hot oatmeal for breakfast just to warm up.  :-}

Long climb up to Monarch Pass today (11,312 ‘).  Continental Divide.  There is a tram to the top of the mountain.  Dave and I, being the height chickens we are, debated then decided what the heck and just went for it.  We really enjoyed the ride and the 360 degree view of the mountains.  We could see over 100 miles, even saw Pikes Peak!

We were going to go to the Royal Gorge just out side of Canon City but just couldn’t bring ourselves to pay a days gas in $’s for a look at more red rock.  LOL   We drove on into Canon City and went on the tour of the Jail Museum instead.  Very bad place to live says Dave.  Lots of facts of jail life in earlier times even the gas chamber that was used for a short period of time.

Hot again today and it is not cooling down at all to night.  Need AC on.

Hugs,

Con

My wife and I wouldn't have made that decision. We had an opportunity like that last year in Lucerne, Switzerland. Had to turn it down. Hope it turned out fun for you two. Continue to enjoy!
