Las Vegas (Part 1)

Hi all, I know it's a bit late but here's a quick bit about Vegas. First day we were trying to get to Lorna's wedding. Stupidly we decided to try to walk there, after all it was only a mile or so down the strip. In 42 C temperatures we were soon hot and sweaty, but we walked on regardless, resting in any available shade. After an hour or so we still had not come upon any chapel and no one seemed to have any idea where it was. It was about 15 mins before the wedding was due to start and we decided to get a cab who promptly took us 3 miles in the other direction (Hotel directions were crap) and got us there just as Lorna was about to walk down the aisle. Wedding was great, complete with Elvis in a gold suit singing a couple of songs and Lorna in a showgirl outfit (very Vegas).
Next day was chilled out with the plan of hitting the casino that night. Slot machines were crap, just pushing a button over and over, not even any hold or nudge buttons. Lost at roulette (Caz didn't) and the staff didn't even smile while taking my cash. Then to the Blackjack table, had a really friendly dealer who was good for a laugh and kept giving us hints. Managed to recoup most of my losses and got fed with free drinks all night.
Next day was spent trying to get rid of hangovers, it turns out roller coasters are great cure so the day was spent going between them. With Caz refusing to go anywhere near them she kept herself amused trying to win Simpson’s toys and care bears on grabby machines and gaining a mass of prize tickets from other games, which instead of swapping for a pencil sharpener she kept to stick in her journal. Went back to the card tables that night and I won back my losses so we both ended up coming out dead even.
Next stop Yosemite National Park…
