First Night in Boston - Easter Sunday

Boston Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

I consider Boston my backyard. But while on a mission trip there with the Jamaica group, it seemed worlds away. We served the many people in need living in Boston. Note: Journal entries come directly from my workcamp journal, and may be confusing to those not on this trip.

It is our first night in Boston. I am so excited about this week. I have a really good feeling about this workcamp in my gut. This group is smaller, and I think we will be able to connect really well as a group. I think this will be a very memorable experience. I love everyone in this group to begin with, and I think that over the course of this week, I will grow even closer with each and every one of them. I am a little anxious about serving the people of Boston. They have so little compared to me, and I am worried about what they will think of me and if they will judge me based on my skin color, hometown, and economic status. I will have to step out of my comfort zone, which will be hard at first, but I think it will turn out to be a very rewarding experience.

I'm sure you'll do very well so don't worry about it! Just be yourself, be charming and all be fine!
