I'm not really sure why though. In the past, when I've had roommates, I've always relished being alone in the apartment. At least last year, my roommate's presence didn't annoy me. She was a nice, considerate girl. Yet, for some reason, I loved to come home to an empty apartment. And here I was with my own studio apartment and I wanted some company. Talk about ironic.
So, as you can see loyal readers (ie mom and dad), I've settled into this new flat. I love the windows. As you said, Dad, they do bring in a lot of sunlight to the room. Unfortunately, I don't really get to take advantage of that because I'm getting dressed and running around in the morning and work out after I get home.
I'm happy with the way my room is set up. I love how my bed is in its own little corner. It's nice and comfy. I like how my laptop and TV can be used from any part of the room. The internet wire is long enough that I've been able to use my computer on my bed, the jumping bed, and the table. Love it.
I'm really trying to treat this dorm as if it were an actual apartment. I actually dead bolt the door when coming home and leaving for the day (although I really don't think it's necessary). I want to try to get into that habit because I'm not really used to it. I'm also trying, as usual, to be neat and tidy. Clean up after myself, make sure everything's put away. It's a shame, though, how dirty things get so quickly.
It's also been nice to have Matt in the building with me. We haven't been seeing toooo much of each other because he's diligently studying for his LSAT (seriously--he has a four-hour class 3 times a week and he's studying every night after work). But he does come over to watch Raymond at midnight and tonight we had dinner together. I'm sure after his LSAT is over mid-June we'll be hanging out every night after work.
Just an FYI dad, I think the next move we do will be a little bit easier. In this past move I had 3-4 colorform size boxes plus a large totebag just with food. My goal over the next couple months is to concentrate on getting rid of all that canned and boxed food so that we have less to move.
I guess that's all I have to say right now. Didn't have the apple jacks this morning but I may have to cave in tomorrow morning. It's really unfortunate; I just cannot resist them. I'm now finally accustomed to one cup of all the other cereals I eat (as opposed to the 2.5-3 cups like I used to eat). But with apple jacks, even after measuring out one cup, I just gotta go back for more. This must be a ploy to plump me up.
So yes, as you can see here are the pics of the place. Dad, as I told you, everything's the same as when we moved in (furniture, setup, etc). Mom, the place is really rocking (too much space if possible) and I think the pictures accurately depict what it looks like.
So enjoy. I know at least one of you has been verrrry impatient about this posting. I hope it was worth it.
