Shawn White, one of the best skateboarders in the world!
Today was my last day in LA and I have a lot of stuff to do and see. First, I was off early to Carson, CA to check out the skateboarding Mens Final. Superstars such as Shawn White were on display, showing off their skills in front of thousands of fans. I had an awesome time watching the even, but all that I could think about the entire time that I was there was just how HOT it was… It was as if I took NY weather with me to LA, it isn’t normally this humid in California but today it was so hot that I had to leave the even early, like others there for the safe haven of my air conditioned rental car.
I went straight for the main LA attractions that I have yet to explore, Hollywood Blvd. Now even though I love to travel, I am not fan of being surrounded by too many tourists. So after spending a little while walking the Blvd. and taking in Mann’s Chinese Theatre, El Capitan Theatre, and Highland & Hollywood Mall, knew I had enough of the tourist trap.
I liked the celebrity hand/foot prints in the cement outside Mann’s Chinese Theatre, it allowed me to learn a few things, such as:
“Man, Tom Cruise has tiny feet”
“I have bigger hands than Charlie Chaplin!”
In the Hollywood & Highlands Mall it is a great location for shopping, dining out, and one of the few places in LA with a great view of the “HOLLYWOOD” Sign. For some reason the city of Los Angeles chooses not to light up the sign anymore, so the only time that one can get a glance at it is during the daytime.
I drove by the famous through Beverly Hills, stopped by the “Beverly Hills” Sign as well as the Beverly Hills Hotel, both iconic sights of Hollywood and the rich and famous, being in many movies.
