Avanti Popoli (move your lazy asses)! We're going to Louvre!
I have to confess, that this was my goal in Paris. I'm not a big fan of the Eiffel Tower like my travel buddy Pesta, but I really enjoy museums. And Louvre is not just some museum. It's THE MUSEUM. A heaven for all people intrested in art, history, myths and culture. That's why Basia (Short from Barbara) didn't come with us. She doesn't fell the atmosphere of this historical crap. She decided to spend time on her own watching some buildings (btw, she didn't know who Charles de Gaulle was, while landing on the airport named by him).
So I went there with my two other travellers: Pesta and Dziuda (not tipical polish names ;>. These are surnames). They're studying history at Lodz University so you understand that they were as excited as I was. It was so hard to get them out of the room. I've, literally, kicked them out of their beds at 6.
30 a.m., and haven't stopped kicking until we reached the subway station. They weren't very happy. At least I was lucky cause I didn't have to wake up Basia. I could not survive that. We've reached Louvre at 7.30 and............................. oh.... suddenly it's 15.30?????? Everyone who went to Louvre can understand me perfectly. You can spend there weeks. We were amazed by the Egiptian, Greek and Romans Sculptures, Reinesance paintngs and oriental art. Pesta and Dziuda liked the Roman statues most (maybe cause they had them at the ecam three weeks before?). Louvre was really something. I won't give you the details. Better enjoy the photos. It is now the most amazing thing I've seen.
But I have a few things to say, about things that I saw there: Venus isn't really that nice as I thought. It's Nike that kicks asses. The background in Mona Lisa painting made the bigger impression on me that the lady in the front. Hammurabi's Law is smaller and better preserved than I thought. When I stood in front of Gericault paintings I really felt great. But I still prefer Delacroix's "Liberty Leading the People" than "The Raft of the Medusa". The Pyramid outside the Louvre is not that bad as people say. I liked it. Think that it was quite a good idea to make an entrance there. I hadn't expected that you can make photos in most of the rooms. That was something great. Of course I made a lot of them. The Babilonian part is soooo impressive. This huge stellas and statues of Gilgames, Marduk and others.
When we return hostel and eat dinner it was about 18.00. We've decided to see another Place To Be in Paris- Moulin Rouge, so we decided to go for a walk there. It wasn't very far. During our walk we went through Pigalle (cause the best chestnuts are on te Pigalle Square, Kloss ;>). It is very important point for every "Stawka większa niż życie" fan.
After we had taken our walk we went only to see Bastilia, and Kenzo's building.... and some other building that name I don't know but it has to be very important cause Basia drag us to see it to the middle of nowhere. After that little private party in our room (we didn't have to go anywhere early, cause we had a flight).
