A once in a lifetime event that took a year of planning. Sixteen family members all got together after Christmas for a wonderful cruise of the Caribbean!

A Day in the Caymans

Horseback Riding along the beach.

The morning found us in Grand Cayman where it was windy, hot and beautiful!  We went shopping at all the little shops and had a cold drinks at the Hard Rock Café with my inlaws.  Then we met up with Penny who drove us to Honey-Suckle Ranch to ride on her beautiful horses: “Rosie”.  Hubby was on “Strawberry”.  My beautiful and very, very tall horse was “Thunderbolt” and our son rode “General” with Penny.  My father-in-law, being the “experienced” rider that he claimed to be, rode a horse with no name…at least none that any of us can remember!

It was a beautiful ride along the secluded beach with the waves from the sea lapping in and coconuts floating in the water.  Then we eventually turned off onto some beaten old path with inlets of water and mangroves everywhere.  It was so peaceful that you hate to leave it…until you begin to get very saddle sore!

We took a tender back and then our son went to play at Adventure Ocean Club, yet again.  I had been surprised by my husband earlier that morning with a spa gift so I was excited to go and enjoy that.  For an hour and a half I relaxed and enjoyed myself immensely with a Swedish Back Massage, and Indian Scalp Massage and a French Facial!  Oh la la!  I floated out of there on air and back to my room in time for dinner.

That evening was another formal night.  I liked them the best.  Who can resist putting on a pretty dress or gown?  My son liked wearing a tie and jacket regardless of what evening it was!  Again we piled into the elegant dining room where the little one planted himself next to his Papa…And let the ever gracious Mary cater to his every whim.  She seemed to have a genuine admiration for him; and it was mutual!

After dinner he begged to be allowed to stay past 10:00 for the late night party.  He’d been begging all week long so we finally caved in and let him.  It was pajama party night where he could lounge around in his P.J.’s, watch movies and color their own pillowcases.  My husband picked him up at 11:00 PM and the child was a zombie but still reluctant to leave insisting that he wasn’t tired.  He was asleep the second his head hit the pillow.
