To day was the day, I met Melanie - mellemel8 , a Travbuddy from who I have read lots of blogs. I wanted to show her my part of Trondheim, lots to see, but so short of time.
I drove down to the harbour with my banners, the American and the Norwegian, to welcom Melanie and her mother to Trondheim. M/S Midnatsol arrived Trondheim 8.15 pm. The weather was rather nice, not so warm at 8.00 pm, but after a while the sun decided to shine on us.
Melanie wanted to visit Tyholt Tower and have the viuw over Trondheim, but the tower opens at 11.00pm and the ship leaves Trondheim one houer later, so ther was no time for the tower. I wanted to take them to another viuw point, but the viuw from ther was rather bad.
Nidaros Chatedral is a must visiting Trondheim, so I had to take them to see the West front with all the statues. Melanies mother visited the church, Melanie photografed at the outside.
Main Square was the next stop, taking photos of the statue "go dagen" and the statue of Olav Trygvasson. Just 50 meters from the statue is the Royal Palace, and we had to have photos infront of the palace.
Baklandet with it`s small wooden houses was the next targit, and what a shame I forgot to show them the bicycle lift "Trampe". Well, well.....
Ringve Music Museeum and Ringve Garden is the next stop, and as the weather was good we had a short walk in the park.
We wanted to have a cup of coffee so we visited Solsiden Shoppingsenter which is placed on the old shipwarft area. No shopping you ask, there is no time for that. But Melanies mother spotted a shop selling glasses, went in, bought a frame, and was out after 5 minutes. I have never seen a women decide so quick what to buy.
Time runs fast and it was time to return to the harbour, but first I wanted to show them how I live. We stopped by my place for 10 minutes.
Melanie and her mother had three and an half houer in Trondheim, so mutch to see, and so short of time...........
Now they are back on Midnightsun traveling to Bodø. M/S Midnatsol left Trondheim 12.00. Now I`m sitting infront of my laptop thinking; Was this for real?
Melanie is a beautiful women with lots of charm and lots of smiles. I`m so glad I had my day of to day and was able to meet Melanie and her charming mother. So easy to talk with, so easy to be found of. Hope we`ll meet again somewere...................
