Cliffs of Moher
The Cliffs of Moher (the Great Wall of Thomond) and O'Brien's Tower, which stands out on a headland shows, the extent of the O'Brien influence on the history of the Celtic Tribes. The tower was built in 1835 by Cornelius O'Brien a descendent of Brian Boru, the High King of Ireland, and the O'Briens of Bunratty Castle, Kings of Thomond, as an observation point.
The Cliffs are 8km long and 214m high. This was one of my favorite sites in Ireland, although the day was rainy and cloudy, I enjoyed the trip very much. I am afraid of heights, but when I was standing on the edge of the cliffs all the fear left my body. I had never seen such beautiful scenery, the sky, the sun, the ocean, it was amazing, and an experience I will never forget. The grounds were slippery and we were not allowed to get too close to the edge because of fear of falling, so some decided to lie down instead. There is no feeling that can describe what it's like to look down from up there, it was fantastic!
