Today Mitaka and decided to head down the "Old" Fazanovo road and pick some pine cones for the winter. As we drove along the the tiny road we saw a turtle walking right along the grassline of the road and immediately stopped to ask if she needed a ride.
After a brief introduction, she told us that she was out on her morning jog, and that giving her a ride wouldnt do her much good, as she was working on getting rid of some underbellie. Though she did ask for a favor, there was something itching her belly, and she cant reach it, so we turned her over and discovered a nasty little tick. After carefully removing it, we took her further into the woods where she wouldnt be walking too close to the road, and said our goodbye's and sent kisses to her family.
We found a shady parking, and proceeded with our bags out to the forest. We picked a couple of dufflebags of pinecones, and when we figured it was more than enough, we headed back to the car. Realizing that this had taken a lot less time than expected, we decided to go on a further exploration.
When I was little there was a little waterfall my family had discovered, and we used to camp out there during the summers. I had some of the most amazing memories in that area, with wild animals coming down to the river to drink water, and wild horses running past on the road next to the waterfall...it was truly a magical time. So, we decided we would go on a search for this waterfall. Jumped back in the car and headed down the mountain towards the river, where there is a hidden little road that leads into the forest.
We jumped out of the car a couple of times, exploring the almost fully dried out river, and continued on deeper down the road, only to discover that this area, which only the gypsies knew of, has turned into a major hunting rest stop with picnick tables, barbques, and little wooden walkways. There was even a name for the the area right before the waterfall, Popski Skali ( The Priests Cliffs). After exploring the Poski Skali, we realized it was getting late and didnt continue looking for the waterfall, and headed back to Fazanovo.
At that point we realized that my cousin and his family had been waiting for us for about 2 hours already.
We realized that we had ran out of beer, and escaped the house to drive down to Lozenets to buy some more. Seeing jackals, wild boars, and some hedgehogs. On the way back we decided to stop by the cemetary and see the stars and chat a while. My cousin took out some jars he had in the back of his car and filled them with the newly bought beer and we toasted right there next to the cemetary under the stars. Afterwards we headed back home and finished up the backgammon tournament, where my cousin totally killed me every single game. I blamed it on the alchohol.
