Murka giving me the "puppy face" as I leave....may she rest in peace..my beautiful baby

This was such a heartbreak for me. As we started piling luggage in the car, I couldnt pull myself away. It felt like I was that little 7 year old again, having to leave summer behind and start school again. I didnt want to leave, I didnt want it to end....I didnt want to go back to the US. I just wanted to stay there forever, feel the sweet sea spray as it sweeps in with the wind, the sounds of liastovichki in the morning...and the sound of jackals howling all night. Time stops when I leave, and when I come back it will start again, nothing will change, nothing will be different, only I will change.

As I got up to go, I hugged Chechi goodbye...as she doesnt like to say bye...so she stays in the house. Then I headed out to the car. I took a couple of parting shots of my two favorite doggies, and got in the car with tears in my eyes.

I took a deep breath as we headed out, breathing in the last remnants of Fazanovo. Hearing the rocks under the car rustle as we drove up the road, past the church and the center, and down the main street out of Fazanovo. The tears came, not knowing...will it be another 10 years before I come back again? Will I forget Fazanovo, the smell, the peace, and the pure relaxation as soon as you enter its limits.

Strangely enough, as we were leaving Fazanovo, the rains came, my shirt was all wet from my own tears, and the grass and trees were all wet from Fazanovo's tears...as if Fazanovo was crying with me. It poured. As we drove out, we stopped the car so I could take one last picture of my favorite tree...and we continued on to Burgas where my father will drop us off at the train station and return to Fazanovo.

A sheep herder awakend by the passing train
I would be traveling with my mom and grandmother.

I failed to mention that on the plane to Bulgaria I got a real bad cold because they had the air conditioner way too high, so I was sick most of the trip. So, with all the crying I did I got even more stuffed up, I raised a temperature, and my cough came back. After picking up some medicine, we headed onto the train.

We were lucky enough that we were right next to another cart which was "VIP" and totally empty, we didnt go and sit there, as we were worried they'd kick us out, and the airconditioner didnt work. So we stayed seated in our seats, however I spent most of my time with the window wide open in the VIP cart taking pictures, then when the camera was out of bateries, I just looked at everything, smelled everything, just took it all in. Though over my entire trip and just collected every little memory I had so I dont lose it.
