Try a dog sled ride if you go!

Greenland, we went over on a tiny airplane from Iceland as a day trip. We landed on a dirt strip that apparently sometimes isn't accessible. From there we walked about a mile and a half along a small dirt road that had 12 feet of snow on either side of the road in spots. It was crazy but cool. We talked along, up and down the road which was very hilly and curved around a lake with a glacier on the other side of it to the village that was built into and around a hill on a point against the lake. It was a bit dirty and there was dog poo everywhere but it was really cool to see and the people were super friendly. There is one store there that is a clothing shop, grocery shop, post office and general store. The houses do not have heated water so there is one building with showers and laundry machines. Some of the houses have shark mean hanging from lines outside drying. The dogs were everywhere, sled dogs. Unlike pets, they're part of daily life and used as transport so they live outside. They're so cute though and very well behaved. We got to see a traditional drum dance about crows and crossing a river, it was so fun. Then on the way back we all got dog sled rides across the fields and around the mountains back to the air stip.
