i just spent a lovely couple fo days with brenda and eric out on opito bay in the coromandel penninsula.  it was fantastic to see them again and honestly, they own a little piece of paradise, really absolutely fantastic.  i know a number of people who would probably kill to have been where i was, sitting there, with that view, just relaxing and reading or heading up to an ancient maori (my spelling stinks, this is how you spell maori) pa (fort on top of a hill).. in one of the oldest native settled areas in new zealand.  defnitely a different experience when you go to these things with a trained archeologist.  what would look like random stones along the beach, being broken axes, a ditch, well, was a ditch, but one by design to help defend the fort.. terracing for housing, the citidel.. and well, a view that was worth the climb and my brief reminder that i have mild acrophobia.  the next day i went out with them on their boat and explored around the local islands (lots of little islands).. and it was so amazing.. wish ihad better words.. wish it had been a bit warmer that would have made it perfect but with hosts like b&e, i have a feeling that i may find myself back in god'scountry before too long.
