Sydney-View of Sydney Opera House from Hyde Park, Australia
How many of you have been to Sydney? What do you find interesting there? What you like to see again? Would you like to come back there again? That is the question I ask myself and I did went back there again last March 2007. This time when I was there, I did the opposite of what most people do. I didn’t do much of the tourist things because I’ve done it before. And this time, I take it easy and go with the flow. I felt fully rested and I able to see the life there through my eyes. I get to know the people better and I saw the real Aussie feel. When I was walking around, people smile at me, I said ‘gooday mate’, I learned that from TV. I also learned some more phrase words like ‘no worries’, ‘’spot on’, ‘flamin heck!’, ‘crikey’ and many more. That was their Lingo and it is fun to use it when you are there.
There is various kind of food you can find in Sydney.
There are many immigrants there. You can find food from Greece, Italy and Middle Eastern. I think you can find mostly everything. I didn’t miss Asian food at all. I can find it at their Chinatown. I also made a new friend in Sydney this time. My friend is from Cuba, he came to Sydney for a holiday and the next time he came back, he found a job and settled there. He called Australia home now. I am so proud of him because I don’t have the guts to do it myself, yet.

Australian is popular for being friendly and open minded. That what I observed and I’m glad I did. My first time I was in Sydney was about 17 Years ago. I was young and so excited and the very first thing I want to see is the Kangaroo.
We went to Taronga Zoo and I was very happy to see the Kangaroo up close. I also did the tourist things like going to the Opera House, The Rocks, Blue Mountain, Bondi beach, Darling Harbour. Only that this time I did go to Opera House because I wanted to take photo and most of my photograph before is on paper and need to get scan. I don’t have a digital camera back then.

I stayed at a very nice hotel called Park Lodge hotel at South Dowling Street, not far from Moore Park. This hotel located around residential area. So I feel like a local, I shopped at their supermarket and ate at the many restaurants there. I even shaved my head at one of the saloon there. This hotel located not far from Darlinghurst and Surry Hills area. Walking to Oxford Street take about 10mins, there is where the night life is.
Go down there on Friday or Saturday night, people are every where. They always ready to party, I like the night life there, you can do bar hoping along the street.

Walking from my hotel to Oxford Street made me realized, there are so many antique shops. I remembered my sister told me to get a chandelier for my dining room area. She said, ‘get a simple one, it will look beautiful’. I saw many that I like but I let this be the next reason why I want to come back to Sydney, YES!, to get a chandelier. Nice isn’t it mate? ;-) , J
