Travel with a Native American guide, from Juneau, Alaska to Panama City, Panama. Alaska state ferry, car, Amtrak, Greyhound, Mexican bus, Tica bus.

We hit the road.

My sister V and I head out.
Stop at the closed smoke shop, check the oil level,
add half a quart.
Reset the trip odometer to 000.00
Head north on I-5, then Hwy 18 to I-90 east.

My introduction to the cell phone shuffle.

Another niece,  C, came by this morning. She'd been to the "Y"  for a workout.
While she was here, they did the shuffle. Their mom would leave her cell phone in
the cupboard, and bring ner daughter's new phone. It was a T-Mobilfe deal and
they'd be able to talk for free.
Then another phone would be for someone else.
So calling one daughter would get their mom, phoning George would get the other daughter, and phoning
mom would get the cupboard.
Oh, I love it.
Later

About ready to hit the road

06:45
Well almost about ready.
My sister V forgot to get her mail held at the post office.
We'll make a stop there, do the paper work, then off we go.
Have I mentioned my sister?
I asked her to help me with the road trip east.
Then I'll pay her fare on Amtrak to return.
I'll continue on my way solo traveling.
It's raining now, overcast, completely different from the past few days.
I enjoy the coolness, the fresh breezes.
Last night I told my niece that the Spam sushi needed to be taste tested.
She just laughed.
I did get some, though. She made extra.
Everybody else in the house is asleep now.
I hear the commuter traffic in the distance, on I-5.
Water dripping off the eaves.
A car passing.
Oh, ooh, this morning at 05:30 some idiot was playing music very loudly.
I could hear it from two buildings over.
Later.
