A truly Royal Nobel day

Brrrr..... colddddd!!

One of the nice things about this trip was that it was so relaxed. I woke up as always, had a relaxed breakfast and set off for a day of sightseeing. I had a fair few sights in mind, but given how the day turned out (relaxed), I only ended up seeing 2, before heading out on a day trip to Vaxholm.

After breakfast, my first stop was to the Royal Palace. As in most places, there was a combined ticket which included the treasury and the main buildings. I purchased my tickets wanted to use the washroom. The reception desk gave me directions, but for some weird reason, I couldn't find the toilet. Turns out that as it's in the public part, it's not openly signposted.

I first headed to the treasury which was fairly disappointing - nothing new on offer, and rather small, I must say.

But the staff is so friendly, they were ensuring that all of us were well taken care of, if we needed any guide books, etc. I then headed to the main building housing the Royal Apartments which I've covered in my review.

I took a bit longer than I hoped I would, but in a good way. I wanted to take in the moment and not just rush. So, I stepped out of the Palace close to noon, at which time I made my way to the Nobel Museum.

So, Nobel Museum - truth is, I'm kind of on the fence on this one. On one hand,, I mean it's..... the Nobel Museum. But on the flip side, and in today's world of Wikipedia, I felt it was more a physical/hard copy of what's available on the internet. It almost felt quite gimmicky. Sadly, I'd recommend this to other folks just because...well, when one visits Stockholm, one has to visit the Nobel Museum. I've written a detailed review on this place.

It was past 1pm after my very relaxed lunch at the Nobel Cafe (and I love how power outlets are easy to find in most tourist places here). I headed out, back to the cold and onto the only day trip I'd be making from Stockholm.
