Bless the latin gods

Guate’ I love you! I don’t know what it’s been but that vibe, that Latin pulse and feel that I have come to adore about Mexico has been missing this whole trip- that is- until I rolled up on Guatemala. This place is the vibe and feel I was looking for! God I wish I had come here first or done Mexico first. Costa Rica and Honduras have been fine and dandy, but for that Latin feel- pass. Go to Guate’ to Mexico, maybe even Nicaragua- but not Costa Rica or Honduras. That’s just my personal and humble opinion.

I arrived in Guatemala City at almost midnight, and I had to flag down a taxi to hit up my hostel, the Backpackers Hostel, but it was a perfect place to crash the night. Great atmosphere to meet other travelers and a perfect place to stay. But I was on to Antigua. I’m hoping to meet a friend of a friend, Ricardo, who lives here now in Guatemala. I don’t know exactly if he is here in the capital or in Antigua, my Colonial city destination. I am going to take a wild swing at it and head to Antigua, find a place to stay and then contact him from my hostel.
