The pool of Termas Malleco

After checking out in Rari we drove to Lonquimay, we book a hospedaje for one night there. We covered a 400 kilometer that day, so it was a long drive. A total of 4600 pesos cost for toll fee, this is Chile how longer you drive how more expensive are the toll fees. We first drove to Curacautin looking for visitor office to get some informations around the area.

The town of Curacautin is pretty small, once we found a parking we park the car for one hour and walk around. Is another quiet town of Chile and not touristy, although its pretty small but they have mostly everything there, we found a money changer next to visitor office.

Inside the cave there are eight geyser
We wasn't looking for it, but while there is one we exchange some of our euros.

The staff at visitor center is very informative and helpful. They adviced to drive to National Park Tolhuaca is about 40 kilometer which is 11 kilometer asphalt and the rest is gravel road. But first we made a stopped at Tolhuaca Hot Springs. They recommend Termas Malleco, we didn't go swimming just viewing. Termas Malleco, is almost an hour drive from Curacautin. From there we continue drive to Tolhuaca National Park - admission of 5000 pesos for foreign visitor. This park is good for active traveller there is a walking trail of 7 kilometer, we haven't done the hike as it was a little late already, even going to the falls take 45 minutes walk one way, we end up of going back to the car

To get the hotspring needs a little walking passing through a hotel.

Salto dela princesa
Once we're on the platform of the pool first thing I saw is a smoke out the grotto - incredible to see such a small cave with eight geysers emerge at great pressure a temperature of 86 degrees. The guy at visitor center telling us about this hot spring - this is one of unique hot spring in Chile an only one type of thermal supply. If it was open we would love to swim, but it was closed

After visiting Tolhuaca National Park we drove to our accommodation in Lonquimay, still more than two hour drive but the road trip through this way were so amazing! both sides of road is nature. Chile is incredibly beautiful, as I'm a nature and green lovers the southern part is one of my favorite in Chile.

We arrive around 4 pm in our hospedaje, greeted by the owner. The house standing in the middle of a nature, a beautiful location.

Lonquimay Volcano
They have cabanas but this cost a little more, so we book a room.  We're satisfied with our room and we can used the kitchen cooking our meal, the owner live downstairs.  The next morning we got breakfast which is included and we meet the other guest too. Local Chilean people travelling around with their motorbikes. It was nice meeting those men they given us some tips of where to drive however, we have our own itinerary but extra tips are always welcome.

After breakfast we gather our stuff and check out. We first drove the small waterfalls Salto Dela Princesa, it was early in the morning nobody around yet. Thereafter we head to Malalcahuello National Reserve, admission is free take a nice boardwalk and see Lonquimay Volcano. I read about the volcano that one can drive up there, so we drove to bottom first and when we saw that there is  road we followed but once almost on top is kind of creepy, so we return back down.
