Bar is a modern city with wide boulevards on the Montenegrin coast. I came to Bar by a local train from Podgorica for only 3.60 € for an hour of ride in the first class. The train was not something specially nice for a photo.  Behind the train station was a bus station, from where passengers have a connection to all towns in the country, the most frequent lines by Mediteran Express company.  There is also a ferry port for regular ferry lines from Bar to Durres, Albania and Bari and Ancona in Italy, and even Bar- Dubrovnik, three times in a week by Montenegrolines ferries.

I decided to walk to the seaside to get some orientation and a better picture of the town. Marina, rows of palm trees, two sandy beaches, hotels, buildings built in the last century, a sport field, shops were some of the objects like in every modern town. I did not spend a lot of time here before heading to Stari( Old) Bar, which was only 4km away in the foot of the Rumija Mountain.

Bar is known for its beautiful climate and the top quality olives, cheese, fruits and vegetables. The most popular beaches and bays of the Bar municipality can be found in the summer resorts Dobre Vode, Sutomore and Canj, where I went for a summer holiday in the following days.
