More cenotes

We had breakfast at the hostel, waffles and fruit, and then picked up some lunch to take with us so that we could stay at our next set of cenotes for the day.  We decided on a pair of cenotes that aren't too touristy, called Crystal and Escondido (I think), a few minutes to the south of town (we took a taxi).

The water was super clear, not as deep as the other cenotes, and completely open on top, not very far down, looked more like a small lake or pond.  It was pretty chilly.  There was a platform to jump off of, so the boys had fun with that.  We spent an hour or so at the first cenote, had lunch, then walked across the road to the other one.

The other was kind of long and narrow, more like a short river almost, then widened at the ends.  It was also very cold and clear.  Apparently the two connect wtih an underground tunnel, we saw divers coming through.  There was a rope swing.  I sat out in the sun, but the mosquitoes were pretty bad.  We met some nice other travelers, one of them showed the boys some swim throughs.

When we got back to town, we got changed and then walked around for awhile, and went out for pizza at a pretty busy place.
