Fotballpuben.:
Fotball puben is as you guessed a sports pub. All the supporters of the local team go here before the the games. So it can be very crowded when the local team "Brann" is playing. During foreign matches much of the crowd here is British , but the Norwegian population also like the Premier league so expect the place to be crowded. The view this weeks program go to this address: http://www.fotballpuben.no/ukens.html . Its in Norwegian ,but it should not be so hard to understand. Its mostly English and Norwegian soccer ,but sometimes its Italian and Spanish when there is nothing else on.
The beer is faily cheap compared to other prices in Bergen. 36kroner early in the evening and when the big games starts its going up to 44kr. The prices are rising steadily the later its gets , and if im not mistaken they go down to 0.4L glasses after 24:00.
During Fridays and Saturdays nights all the chairs in front of the big screen are removed and the sportspub becomes a nighclub with cheesy music and a dance floor packed with all the normal 19year old girls that loves to dance.
If you do want to smoke you have to sit outside because the law thats prohibits smoking. But its not so cold as you might expect since they have heating lamps. (and blankets if its really cold). You will not get wet when sitting outside because they roll out a layer of water resistant cloth when needed.
All in all the best sports pub in Bergen if you want to experience some local supporters. If you want to watch football in more calm sorrundings go to Biskopen , which is just around the corner.
Wembley pub: This is mostly a pub for the more mature crowd. With slow background music. The entrance is close to the entrance of fotballpuben so its really worth to just go inside a try (at least) one beer.

Biskopen is one of my favorite pubs in Bergen. You will probably be surprised by the many old chairs and couches when you enter, but the are really Comfortable and gives the place a good atmosphere. The place consists of two floors. The top floor has a fireplace(!) and TVscreens that shows big football matches ,but this is a casual place so no loud cheering , as Ive been thrown out several times after cheering loudly.
The Basement floor is like a basement with chairs , couchces and restrooms. They also have several good international beers on tap in addition to the normal Hansa and Ringnes
To sum it up: A cozy pub with classic old furnitures and a fireplace and several good beers on tap.

Hectors Hybel is a modern trendy gastropub/cafe. The atmosphere is good and can remind you of an lively cafè during the daytime. The atmosphere can be described as intimate, while still being trendy.
They are located in the Basement of Vaskerelven 14 which is close to the the Kilroy-House. This is a perfect place to grab a beer during the day. Young crowd
Some of the more important items on the menu are
Beers : 35-40kr
Several different spirits and drinks
Coffee: 15kr
Baguettes : Unknown, but pretty cheap compared to "Godt Brød" 40meters away

Ovenpå is a club/pub where they mostly play trance and techno. In other words the music is horrible, but the beers are cheap and if you like to dance (disco-crazy-style) this is the place for you.
The Covercharge is 100kr and the beers are often 25kr on Thursday and 30kr every other day I believe. Anyway , its one of the cheapest places in Bergen. Its also a good pickup-joint if you are looking for something, but mind that most girls here are from outside of Bergen, so you might be invited to an afterparty way out of the city.
The music is so loud that its really hard to talk to the people you meet and its often very warm inside during the summer. They should upgrade their Air condition.
Location: Vestre Skostr 2. You see it when you are standing outside of Exhibition looking in the direction of the the fishmarket

Metro is probably one of the most classy places in Bergen. They do have a dresscode, but if you wear normal nice clothes you will get in, but sneakers and baggy clothes isnt good enough.
The beer is ridicously expensive, but the atmosphere is good and you normally meet very bright young people if you are here during nighttime. They also have furnitures out in the street with blankets so you can sit comfortable outside and smoke.
The place is good, but be prepared for expensive beer/drinks. And watch out for getting lost on the way to the bathroom.. I ended up in the kitchen once i was trying to go to the bathroom, but i blaim the 15pints I've had earlier that night
Location: Between Hotel Norge and TGI Fridays as Festplassen. You cant miss it.
