I pointed Gouda on the map, a picturesque area in the province of South Holland. Gouda had grown to be the fifth city of Holland. In the inner city there is still a large number of historical and monumental buildings of which the town Hall and St. John's Church are probably the most famous.

In addition to the famous Gouda there is much more to enjoy in the city. The weekly cheese market from april to august held every thursday morning. This occasion can be seen on the main square, unfortunately we missed it.

There we walk along some historical sites, during our visit there is an event in town in the main square thousands of people dressed in white.

Main square
We have no idea what was going on, we heard from people around - is a family tradition called "Dinner en Blanc" relatives and friends spending a culinary evening in a secret and public place in the open air. This tradition held every year in different places in Netherlands and this year it held in Gouda

Thus, we continue our walk to the harbor where we see authentic ships and harbor pubs.  The streets with characteristic facades. A very interesting place to see while in town. The canals in Gouda it may not pretty as in Utrecht, but is belong to top ten of the most beautiful canals in the Netherlands. One can also do a canal cruise in Gouda - shipping company De Ijssel carried through the monumental city of Gouda from mid April to mid October on reservation

Without realize how the time flies, we were enjoying very much our walk and forget the time, we have a dinner reservation at 18:00pm in a Cuban restaurant I found this place on internet - it sound strange a Cuban restaurant serves unlimited tapas for 22€ per person.

By the canals
Holland and Belgium has something in common when it comes to food, so we thought we'll look for something else and going for tapas.

It was almost 20:00 pm when we get out the restaurant. We walk a little bit, but after a half hour it gets chill - we didn't have a sweater, so we decided going back to the car and drove to the hotel. We enjoyed our visit in Gouda, this beautiful town of Netherlands not only famous for its cheese - the historic center of the city has been a beautifully preserved and nowadays one of the city's main attractions.
