Rome, I'd go back just for the cheezy pasta... yum... cheezy pasta...

The standing palace in the Roman Forum

I love Rome. Best food ever, I think I ate enough pasta to feed a small country and still could have shoveled in more. I will of course go back again as it's such an awesome place... although the taxi drivers are a little crazy, but really, where are they not? (no offense to taxi drivers intended) We did all the main things in the city accept the Sistine Chapel which was closed at the time. My favorite was of course the Coliseum and Roman Forum which is the ancient section of Rome with a palace and garden at the top of it. Once again I got to stand on marble floors that held emperors and really, how cool is that?! By the way, did you know that the marble on the Vatican was salvaged off the walls on the Coliseum? It's true, if you look you'll see small square holes in the walls and that's where the marble was held on by plugs, it was ripped off and put on the Popes walls instead.

So, there you have it, stone that saw the slaughter of millions of animals and people ended up attached to the home of the Pope. Also, the Vatican has it's own post code which legally makes Vatican City it's own country, look it up if you don't believe me ;) We did a lot of walking, eating and photo taking. Sadly at the time I didn't have my digital SLR, I had a 35mm SLR and a compact digital so most of my photos are hard copies still in a box at my parents so these photos don't do it justice. But, it's incredible and one of my favorite places in Europe.
