Glen's mom fetching us a tricycle

So I woke up quite early after a bad sleep - too hot, home phone kept ringing and the rooster kept making a racket! Downstairs I hellowed a lot of Glen's family members, he has 9 siblings, but have only met 4 of them. They have children, some very good at English. But when the Filipinos speak English they do in an American accent. funny.  Met his mom, who turned 75. She is so cute. Accross the street lives one of his sisters so we popped over for brunch. Their break normally consists of rice and meat. Tries their lychees - yum. They look totally different on the outside. Now I know when I go to supermarket. Glen taught me how to macrome. Type of knotting technique that people use for friendship bracelets. CHilled at Edith's place. Glen, his mom, Justidea and I jumped into a Tricycle and headed to the 'rich' cemetry.

At the cemetery (wealthier one)
The cemetries where the richer people lay their dead is VERY different to where the poor lay their dead.  Said a prayer by Glen's dad's grave. Glen and I decided to take a walk through the poor cemetery because apparently you can see the bones. Lots of the coffins have been broken and are crumbling.... but sadly no bones to see. There are a lot of people who live here too. OK there are too many stray animals roaming around!

Back home there were more people.....so many family members. Aunts, uncles, cousins, cousins of cousins, second cousins, god children, grand parents, cousins of grand parents etc etc etc......cant keep up! When an uncle or aunt arrives the nieces or nephews have to take their hand and place it on their foreheads as a sign of obedience.

..I think English kids need to learn a thing or two from these Filipinos!  Some of Justidea's friends and herself were singing some religious songs in English so was great to join in, which I was carrying the cutest baby to give his parents a break...I wanted to keep little MG. :-(

Loads of food was eaten, intestine one of the dishes, I passed on that. Sat out int the road and chatted, got bitten quit a bit. Then the kareoke came out, had my turn, exposing them to Five for Fighting and my bad New York New York singing. Very family orientated here in Philippines. Then later in the night a family arrived with a whole pig on a platter with an apple in its mouth - Yikes! I must say a lot of the women here make jewellery, either as a hobby or to sell a few here and there.

Cemetery
Its probably because the markets to buy supplies are massive and pretty cheap!I cannot wait to go to these shops tomorrow with Joanne. We need materials for all the ladies.

Said our goodbyes and Glen and I headed to Makati again with Annalynne and Sweet as they live there. Watched another band.....he came over with the microphone and I joined in to a Filipino song....how the hell I managed that I have no idea! WEnt to a coffee bar at the end of the night for a heath drink and they have this button on the table which when you press a waitress comes out instantly - now that is good service!

Today is Sunday 9th. I slept for 10 and a half hrs last night! Today Glen and I have been waiting for his brother to arrive for lunch. So gonna have some pork now and then shopping in Tri noma mall later. Then heading home to get prepared for Monday's office and supplies day.
