Almost a year spent travelling to Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

Saying goodbye to Clay

We spent the day pottering round town in readiness for the upcoming wedding before meeting Clay for a slap-up meal at Pesci's on the waterfront overlooking the harbour. We had reserved two whole mud crabs earlier in the day and Clay and I fell upon these with great gusto - I'd never realised how much meat was on a crab! We were stuffed and barely touched the rice it came with, though we still found a little room to share a desert, being unable to resist the menu! Afterwards we headed to the casino for a little flutter and Clay explained the rules of roulette so it was an education.

Excellent hotel room-wise, but not so good staff-wise. We wouldn't have paid so much to stay here but for the fact that every other hotel was booked up for some reason. We paid about 200 dollars for a double room on the 13th floor which is still only about 80 UK pounds per night, which you just would NOT find in central London for the same price. The room was extremely comfortable, with a wonderfully comfortable bed, large plasma screen TV (not very good quality however), bath AND shower, plush carpet etc. This kind of quality would have been well out of our price range in UK. Staff were not always the most helpful they could have been. We requested 24 hr internet and spent an hour trying to get it to work before calling down to discover it was down and they hadn't notified us. We asked why they hadn't told us and they were quite sarcastic with us and still charged us for 24 hr use even though we'd only used it for a couple of hours before it went down!
