Today was a day for last-minute jobs and meet-ups. I started first with Craig at the Riverland bar beside the Yarra River. I used to work with Craig 5 years ago at Adjaye Associates in London but he recently moved back to Melbourne. We grabbed an organic sausage hot dog by the river and he told me all the gossip from our old work and about the groovy bars in Melbourne that he'd meant to show me. Apparently Melbourne has a spectacular 'hidden' bar life owing to relaxed licensing laws that allow almost anyone with $1500 dollars to sell alcohol...

Then it was off to North Carlton to pick up my all important cheques to sort out my financial difficulties, and to say goodbye to Ant, who so kindly hosted us for a few weeks. Matt, Ant and I went down to the local and sat in the outdoor terrace with some beer and cider and toasted onwards plans...

Then back to Federation Square to meet Janin, and then off to St Kilda where the weather started to change and I started to feel chilly. I took the tram back to Chapel Street and decided to stop for an impromtu dinner at Revolver, the 'Melbourne Institution' for some thai food, before I headed home and spent a nice evening chatting with David on our last couch-surfing night about comedians, TV programmes and back problems (which he has been attempting to help with via the Alexander technique).
